If God Can Use Them, God Can Use You
Let’s be honest—how many times have we looked at our own flaws and thought, "There’s no way God could use me"? It’s easy to focus on all the reasons why we feel unqualified or unworthy. But when we dive into the Bible, we quickly realise that God doesn’t call the perfect; He calls the willing.
If you ever doubt whether God can use you, just open your Bible and see how He used some of the most imperfect, broken people to fulfil His purpose.
Jacob was a liar.
Moses was a murderer.
David was an adulterer.
Peter betrayed Jesus.
Paul persecuted Christians.
Rahab was a prostitute.
Martha was a worrier.
Gideon was a coward.
Thomas was a doubter.
Timothy was just a teen.
Abraham was a liar.
Jonah ran away.
Moses disobeyed.
Jeremiah was depressed.
Elijah felt burnt out.
These are people we read about in Sunday school, the heroes of our faith—and yet, they were far from perfect. God didn’t choose them because of their flawless track record; He chose them because they were willing to be used by Him despite their shortcomings.
Here’s the truth: God is in the business of using frail, fallible, and ordinary people because that’s the only kind there is. None of us are without fault. None of us have it all together. But the good news? God doesn’t need us to. He doesn’t need perfect vessels—He just needs available ones.
So, stop looking at your past, your mistakes, or all the reasons why you think God can’t use you. Start looking at the cross, where all of that was nailed, and see His invitation to be part of His story.
God isn’t looking for perfect. He’s looking for open hearts, for people who are willing to say, "Here I am, Lord, use me." So if you feel disqualified or too broken to be used by God, take a deep breath and remember—you’re exactly the kind of person He works through.
It’s never about how good we are; it’s always about how good He is. Your imperfections don’t disqualify you; they make you relatable. They make you real. And when God uses you, He gets the glory because it’s clear that it’s His strength, not ours, that makes the difference.
God doesn’t need us to have it all together. He just needs us to be willing to take the next step with Him. So, wherever you are, with all your doubts, fears, and failures—know this: God can and will use you, just as you are. All He asks for is a heart that says yes.
Ready to be used by God?
Let go of perfection, embrace His grace, and watch what He can do through you.
